Free templates, each one checked and dated.

The documents a small team keeps by hand before it has HR software. Each opens with a filled example and the rule behind every line. Downloads need no email and no account.

because a template is only useful if its numbers are right for this month's law.

  1. Salary slip format

    Excel · print-to-PDFChecked 30 Sep 2026

because a wage slip is a legal duty under the Code on Wages, and every line on it should say where it came from

  2. Attendance sheet template

    Excel · 1 sheetChecked 30 Sep 2026

because payable days and loss of pay should add up to the days in the month, every time

  3. Leave tracker

    Excel · 3 sheetsChecked 30 Sep 2026

because a balance is the sum of its lines, and a correction belongs on a line of its own

  4. Appointment letter format

    Word · printableChecked 30 Sep 2026

because a letter of appointment puts the agreed terms on paper, in the format the OSH rules prescribe (the Central Rules, or your state's)

  5. Offer letter format

    Word · printableChecked 30 Sep 2026

because the role, pay and joining date should be agreed in writing before the candidate resigns elsewhere

  6. Joining letter format

    Word · printableChecked 30 Sep 2026

because the joining report records the day the person actually reported, and answers the appointment letter

  7. Experience letter format

    Word · printableChecked 30 Sep 2026

because the next employer checks dates and designations, and a certificate should state only facts

  8. Relieving letter format

    Word · printableChecked 30 Sep 2026

because the letter waits only for the last day to be reached, never for a clearance

How these are kept

because a number without its date is a guess about which month it applies to.

How are these HR templates kept up to date?

Every rate and threshold on these pages comes from one statutory register, shown with the date it took effect and the date we last checked it. When a rule changes, the new value is added with its own date. Every example uses the same sample company, Paiteq Technologies, so a figure on one page agrees with the next.

Calculators live in their own drawer, free tools, and rule changes in the dated guides.

Questions

because a free template should say what it is, and what it is not.

Questions about free HR templates.

Are these HR templates free?

Yes. Each template is free to download and use, with no email and no sign-up, and comes with a filled example for a sample company so you can see every line worked out. Each one is checked against the Labour Codes and dated, so you can see when it was last reviewed.

Which HR templates are available?

A salary slip format in Excel with a print-to-PDF version, a monthly attendance sheet with LOP, and a leave tracker kept as a ledger. Five letters in Word: an appointment letter in the OSH Central Rules format, and offer, joining, experience and relieving letters. Each page explains every field, with any rule's date.

Are the templates updated for the new Labour Codes?

Yes. They follow the four Labour Codes in force since 21 Nov 2025 and the Central Rules notified on 8 May 2026. The salary slip's example uses the EPF wage ceiling of ₹25,000 from 17 Sep 2026 and ESI on Code wages; in the Excel file you enter PF, ESI, PT and TDS yourself.

Can I use a template instead of HR software?

For a few people, yes. A sheet works while one person keeps it and nobody needs to know who changed what. When balances, corrections and approvals start living in chat, move to software; LekhaHR imports the same columns.

Are these templates legal advice?

No. They are working formats with the rules that apply, dated and sourced. Your state's rules and your own contracts may add to them, so check anything unusual with your adviser before you rely on it.
